Weekends full of festivals. Weekdays enjoying summer specials around town: Flicks on Fifth, $5 oyster night, Restaurant week both Downtown and Midtown Atlanta... you know what gets me going!
I had an amazing weekend with my family in mid-July. Yaara was stateside and the whole crew came up from Florida to visit. The carload arrived late on Thursday. We had some snacks, chilled, went out to dinner and then took Noam to his first concert: Candlebox @ The Loft. Shira arrived Friday morning. We spent a few hours and several hundred dollars at the DeKalb Farmers Market. I love that place! Noam made dinner.
Saturday we went to Piedmont Park, Sivan rollerbladed, we threw a frisbee around, and then hit the Green Market. Afterwards we hit Trader Joe's. Can you tell I'm from a family that likes to eat! In the afternoon we did some shopping in Atlantic Station, with H&M being the biggest time consumer.
It's one thing to cook for the nuclear family, but Saturday night, I cooked for the extended familiy... for the first time. Craig and Gail came over for dinner. We started with a sashimi platter with Ahi and Bass, cucumbers, spring onions, and mango salsa. For entrees, did some chicken and rice, and rosemary duck with tri-colored potatoes. Ima made her glazed carrots and not a morsel was left for my roommate.
Sunday morning we had a leisurely breakfast before I sent them all on the road.
Rapidly approaching production with a major project. The press has come out, so now it's crunch time!
blog.shanispace.com/shani is something I started primarily to collect restaurant reviews and specials. That way I can click on "Monday" and find what places have half-price wines or all-you-can-eat tapas. It also has my take on the eats and libations around town... and my take on life, work, politics, whatever is going on.
Thanks for visiting!
