Summer Routine

The heat is in the air, and I am trying to stay out of it! Due to the many summertime events going on around Atlanta, I have not been extremely successful. The social schedule has been hopping with outdoor events including Summerfest, Screen on the Green, Fourth of July, a trip to the beach and even a pool party!

More often than not, I am inside... at the office. I have made great strides as a Developer since moving over in May. On the horizon is a release of Users which will allow people to register for the site and do cool things. When it's up and running, I'll tell you my part!

Atlanta Peeps - Don't go to Vinings Dental or Dr. Larsen!

It happened on a Tuesday. I left the house around 8 for my two dentist appointments. Before getting there, my dentist is already on probation in my book. I have been getting periodontal (gum) treatments and I am not seeing progress. Plus, the work he did last time hurt like crazy, and that's the first time a dentist caused me such pain.

So, my beloved hygenist has been transferred to another office. The assistant tells me (while she takes a break from hacking her lungs out) that Anne will take care of the periodontal stuff. "Don't you know Anne? She's been here for five years?" I said, "No, I don't know Anne, I have been here a year and I have always had [cool hygenist]." Any how, Anne comes in and pokes harder than [cool hygenist] so now only is there no progress, it's really hurting! I am chill though. I know in my head I will never come back.

Before actually doing any work, she asks me about my crowns. I tell her the truth, "Last time I was here [3 months ago], the doctor said they are preventative, not urgent." At this point she stops and leaves.

Doctor comes in. Looks around. Hands me a mirror and starts condescending. "I told you a year and a half ago that you will need to get these crowns right away." (For those of you not good at math or timelines, I was still living in DC a year and a half ago.) He continues, "I cannot in good faith take care of some vanity fillings when you have these bigger problems." So, let me get this straight, you aren't going to do the stuff I have an appointment for doing today? "Well, we can get started on the crowns today if you want." That's not an option right now. "Okay, well let me know when it is, otherwise you will be in non-compliance." Excuse me?

What happened after that was incredulous. My dentist dumped me. Told me he would transfer me to the office where [cool hygenist] is. Incidentally, after an initial appointment with my new dentist... there are no crowns in my treatment plan!
