Computer has been fixed!

It's almost June, but you know what, I finally have a gig & a half of RAM in my computer!

Work makes me happy, and I wish for everyone to have that some day! This week I was "knighted" Lady Affiliates. I get the impression I am getting the stuff nobody else wants to do. This one, however, does not bother me so much. Basically, I am responsible for making sure the show is properly represented on every web site that links to ours. Easier said than done.

On my spare time I am teaching myself php. For those of you who care to know what that is...

In a nutshell, php is a server-side language that gets embedded into html. The background: Going on the internet is a three computer process, it starts on my computer, I upload to a server. You type in www.shanispace.com and your browser finds this page on my server. Html, javascript, CSS, all that stuff gets interpretted by your browser and my pages gets displayed. Those are examples of client-side languages. If you look at the page source, you will see those elements. You will not see php in the page source. Php allows for dynamic, interactive pages. If you tell me you're visiting my site from Tampa, I'll show you pictures of Tampa, if you're from DC, different content, though all one page.

The most common uses of php (and other server-side languages) are forms, and logins. My contact page utilizes a php script.

Have I mentioned how wonderful my life has become since getting in touch with my inner nerdiness? And to make it even better, my boss has the same senses of humor as I do!

For those of you who haven't seen them yet, the first set of Atlanta Photos are up!

My parents' new place in Dade City, from hereon referred to as "The Ranch" because Amit is a gifted comedian, is now home to chickens. Scroll to bottom! Veggies from the garden are so phenomenal, I can't even explain.

Random Thoughts

My boss says to me, Bush's approval is down to 29%.
I said: Pretty soon, "Bush Approval" will be on every oxymoron list along with "Military Intelligence" "Pretty Ugly" and "Jumbo Shrimp"
